Sold Out was responsible for the execution and production of the Premios de la Música from their inception in 1997. Every year this event recognised the work of songwriters, artists, composers and all music professionals in general.
The Premios de la Música were created in 1996 by the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE) and the Authors’ Foundation in collaboration with the Society of Spanish Artists (AIE) to recognise the work of songwriters, artists, composers and all music professionals in general. From 2001 until the last time they were held in 2011, the Academy of Musical Arts and Sciences was responsible for their organisation together with Sold Out.
Over the 15 years they were held, the Premios de la MúsicaMusic Awards raised public awareness of the creative activities of our songwriters and the ability of the Spanish music industry to take the initiative.
What was unique about this project was that it involved the whole sector in selecting the stars of the Spanish music scene. Hence it was the membership of the Academy, the writers and performers themselves, who voted for those who in their view were the most outstanding professionals in different creative musical categories during the preceding year.
From 2007 the annual Premios de la Música gala became an itinerant event held in various Spanish cities: Madrid (2006), Córdoba (2007), Valladolid (2008), Badajoz (2009) and Madrid again (2010-2011).
